A mixed-media poster exploring the intersection of punk rebellion and Korean cultural identity, inspired by Peggy Gou's Starry Night and its themes of breaking from conformity. The design reflects Peggy's position as a trailblazing Korean woman in global house music, honoring her cultural roots while embracing underground rave subculture.

I built the composition through layered textures: scanned bandana patterns, torn paper, halftone Xerox grit, and a physically printed label-maker strip reading "Just Gou It." Traditional Jangseung (장승), Korean village guardian totems, break through the surface as cultural protectors, grounding the chaotic energy in heritage. The warped "Peggy" text and vertically placed, distorted "Represents" create intentional visual disruption, guiding the eye unpredictably to mirror the song's liberating, rebellious spirit.

The red and beige palette balances intensity with vintage warmth, keeping the punk energy grounded. Using actual physical materials, scanning real bandanas and photocopying labels, gave the piece an authentic texture that purely digital work couldn't achieve. The final design captures the cultural and emotional chaos I was aiming for: uneven, raw, and rooted in the idea of heritage coexisting with modern rebellion. Throughout the process, hands-on experimentation, peer feedback, and AI feedback shaped the meaningful symbolism that connects Peggy's music to visual form.
